Mobile Monday is an 11-year-old global grassroots movement in more than 100 cities worldwide. It is active in Belfast and Dublin and for the first time the MoMo chapters of Dublin and Belfast are joining forces. The networking event is being held at the Gibson Hotel in Dublin on September 19th and there are limited tickets remaining. MoMo is a free of charge, networking event held in the afternoon (2pm – 6pm).
Indigenous companies that have been successful in the mobile industry on a global stage will be showcased, including: senior representatives from Altobridge (connecting remote communities, GSMA Award winner), Aepona (mobile cloud, GSMA initiative winner), DRG (Mobile Marketing & Advertising), Openmind Networks (messaging) and TR2 (payments).
Pitch your app idea
New Irish app companies will also get a chance to vet their idea or product against a large audience of peers. They will do a three-minute pitch, not for investment, but for specialist feedback.
Norbert Sagnard, co-founder of MoMo Belfast and co-organiser of MoMo Dublin, says, “In true MoMo fashion, this will be a total grassroots event. We wanted to make sure that anyone with a great idea in mobile (app, network or device-related) would have a chance to meet similar minds from across the island of Ireland. And thanks to our lead sponsor Nokia and sponsors Enterprise Ireland, InterTradeIreland and Invest NI, we can do that and offer this event to our peers free of charge.”
Ronan Cremin, co-founder of MoMo Dublin, added, “We are now inviting young Irish app companies to pitch, and this will be a unique opportunity for local developers to check with a critical audience if their app has potential, at a very early stage of development or market launch.”
